Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Rainbows are a symbol of hope and possibility for me and I think most people would agree.  For me rainbows are special and something I celebrate every time I luck upon one. They remind me of being a kid riding in the back of my Mom’s orange Toyota. I’d sit in the backseat staring out the rear window daydreaming when suddenly just by chance I’d look up at exactly the right moment to catch a glimpse of color decorating the sky. There off in the distance would be all of my go to colors that I usually only saw in my crayon box but suddenly, ‘look Ma there they are in the sky.’ It amazed me every. single. time, and still does to this day. For that I’m truly thankful.

I still unapologetically love rainbows and everytime I happen to see one I think of magic and miracles and how lucky I am to be a live right now. And I know it isn’t just me. Look around and you will see too that the fascination with rainbows runs throughout our pop culture in so many ways…

The Wizard of Oz…

and my favorite…

There are even legends about the end of the rainbow. Leprechaun’s find gold at the end of the rainbow…supposedly

FACT: You can never reach the end of a rainbow.

Rainbows appear to move as you move, because the light that forms the rainbow does so at a specific distance and angle from the observer — so that distance will always remain between you and your rainbow.

Luckily I was never disappointed by not finding that pot of gold. In fact I can say that a rainbow has never disappointed me.

So hopefully the next time you’re lucky enough to see a rainbow you will be taken by its beauty or at least take a moment to reflect on the specialness that you were lucky enough to have found the right place at the right time to witness beauty.
